Dropped by for lunch. I had a veg pasty and it was pretty tasty. The atmosphere inside the cafe was great, and there are toilet facilities situated just outside. Wray castle is beautiful and I would definitely recommend this place halfway through a day of cycling!

We were surprised to find a mainly plant-based cafe here and especially one with such good cake and light bite options! Yes, the coffee and cake were slightly more expensive than most places but all the things we had were of a high quality. One cake was enough for us to share with two little ones. Dogs are very well catered for and service was really friendly and efficient, though it was a quieter winter day on our visit. Whilst they had plenty of plant-based options, cows milk coffees etc were available. The toilets are the general National Trust ones which weren't the best but this is beyond the control of the café I think.

A delightful little cafe situated to the rear of Wray Castle. Helpful, friendly, and cheerful staff. Service with a lovely smile today. Seating available indoors and oodles of options outdoor. You can eat in, eat out, or take away with a "grab n go" section. Dogs are welcome outdoors and I was tickled by the stick library, such attention to detail. It accessible and toilets are located just over from the cafe entrance in part of a stone outbuilding. I opted for an Earl Grey tea and a gluten free Biscoff Brownie. So suitably hydrated and loaded with sugar I headed off for a walk and explore along the lakeside and boat house.

We've been to 2 of your cafes and your trailer on our holiday last week and had lovely experiences at all. (2 in one day!) I had a New York cookie at each and my 5 year old daughter had a pizza twist and ate all 3 completely. They were both delicious!! Highly recommend a stop for a refuel on a walk

Situated at Wray Castle, pleasant staff reasonable range of café style food. Excellent stop while visiting the Castle and grounds. Nice circular route along the shoreline of Lake Windermere from and back to the Castle

We walked the 3 mile trail from Hawkshead to Wray Castle not knowing what to expect. After a hot walk in the lovely weather we saw Joey’s and although we had missed the opening hours they kindly gave us cups of iced water which we really appreciated. The outside area was lovely so we sat for a while before looking around the castle to then do our 3 mile walk back. I just wanted to thank the staff for their kindness.

Great coffee i stopped off for a brew and something to eat on a cold wet winters day. The chilli sounded warming. I got a very filling portion of deliciousness - just what i needed, and one of the nicest chillis I've had. Great value for money, i would have paid at least double the price in a pub. Set in a beautiful location within the castle. Highly recommend

We came on a slightly rainy Saturday morning for a walk around Wray Castle and the surrounding countryside. The cafe was a nice touch for a much needed brew and spot of something to eat. We did actually bring a packed lunch with us on our walk, being Coeliac we didn't expect any options to cater for us. We were pleasantly surprised that we could eat the homemade fresh tomato and basil soup on offer (sans bread roll of course!) that paired excellent with our sandwiches from home. The toffee nut latte was nice but the syrup wasn't my favourite. It lacked a bit more nuttiness to it. But a perfectly fine cup of coffee. I noted there was at least 1 gluten free cake option available too. I didn't check the fridges to see if there was any other gluten free hot or cold food available to us though. They have a good range of veggie options available too. The cafe was nice inside and the outside area is very cute to sit out and eat. They advise you to recycle/bin your rubbish/clear your table if sat outside and there are bins available to use. The castle has toilets situated near the entrance to Joey's Cafe too. A perfect stop off point!
